the world, lack access to safe water near their homes for drinking,

planet's population, lack a safe and effective way to dispose
of their bodily waste.
- Ten million people die of water borne diseases
each year.
- Two million of those deaths are children.
- That is, nearly 5,000 children in the developing
world die every day from diseases due to unsafe water, sanitation,
or hygiene.
- The average life expectancy in Malawi is
a little over 35 years. Much of this is due to a lack of clean
water.
- There are 12 million people, of a population

Providing
the Solution Through Wells
Drilling wells where rigs can reach
Epicenter
Solutions has provided boreholes (wells) for remote villages, so
that the people can avoid walking many miles and many hours per
day just to get fresh water. The wells enable them to have time
for other vital activities including school for children and farming
for adults. Our progressive solutions are to set up long term clean
water resources. Even in less remote villages, it is possible to
drill new boreholes. The price of boreholes averages out to be $5,000.00.
This includes the hand pump and the concrete platform around the
borehole. We do not just drill wells but we also help the villages
maintain them. We do this through maintenance training and providing
replacement parts.
The solutions are simple.
The problems are preventable.
