Medical Problems
- 80% of the population lives in the villages.
- There are only about 100 doctors and 2,000 nurses total for the entire country of 13 million, Malawi is the country with the fewest doctors per person (Source: Guinness World Records).
- Most, if not all, of those doctors are in the cities.
- With Malawi being one of the ten poorest countries in the world with an income per person of around $160 per year, even having medicines available is no guarantee that they people will be able to afford them.
